Elly graduated from Cambridge Vet School, UK in 2002. She completed an internship at the Royal Veterinary College, London, prior to starting a career working in small animal practice in the UK. She is currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Lincoln, supported, and funded by the Veterinary Defence Society (VDS) UK. This work uses a qualitative approach to research communication and patient safety in the veterinary profession. Elly is delighted to be part of the launch of the Veterinary Special Interest Group within EACH and as development officer will work to look at ways the group can support and engage veterinary communication educators, researchers and enthusiasts across the globe. Her research focuses on how we might help veterinary teams deliver safe care through improved communication. Alongside her research, Elly is a Training Consultant with the VDS training team, where she helps support veterinary professionals, teams and practices communicate well, navigating the challenges of practice life effectively so they can thrive and enjoy their work.
