Ruth qualified from RVC in 1989 and has spent much of her time in both charity practice and primary care emergency clinics. She has spent 11yrs teaching at the RVC in both clinical and formal settings. Her areas of interest are all aspects of primary care, charity and shelter medicine but her main activitis are in Communication skills and Euthanasia She has an RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Anaesthesia, a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice and has recently completed the 'Maddie's' Graduate Certificate in Shelter Medicine with UFL. Ruth is also interested in pegagogy and is a tutor to veterinary professionals working towards the PGCert in Veterinary Education. Ruth is currently involved in projects relating the 'The client voice', perceptions of euthanaisa in practice and communication skills pedagogy. She is responsible for the communication skills course in years 1-4 and the associated examinations.
